Steps from the deck to the common area may be added. A Township permit is needed if the deck is 30" or higher above the ground. An ARC request is not needed if the following stipulations are adhered to.

Steps should rest on a concrete footer.

Steps must include one handrail (two handrails are recommended).

Steps must be constructed of pressure treated lumber.
Sealant or Stain color:
Any clear sealant may be used on steps and/or deck. If a stain is desired it
should be semi-transparent stain that allows the wood grain to show through in a light wood toned color.
Maintenance of the steps will be the responsibility of the homeowner (as is the maintenance of the deck).
